Location Aware Twitter

Posted on 23. Aug, 2009 by John Paul Grant in News, Twitter

Twitter have just announced they are planning to implement a feature which allows for location awareness. This will be part of their new API, which will allow developers to add latitude and longitude to a tweet.

I have always been a little annoyed with twitter for its simplistic nature. I definitely realise the benefits it has, I have just always wanted it to add more features , and it now looks they are finally beginning to do this. They have also recently announced they will be adding functionality to the retweet feature.

Anyway I thought I might let everyone know this as it could play a role in local / location marketing in the future.
