Google Caffeine: The New Google Search Engine

Posted on 19. Aug, 2009 by John Paul Grant in Google, News

So Google has just announced a “secret project” they have been working on which has been dubbed the “next generation architecture for Google’s search engine. Their appears to be many improvements to the search engine, from crawling, indexing and ranking changes to general speed enhancements.

Unlike days past, Google are not simply implementing these changes into their existing algorithm, but rather are providing a developer preview version for webmasters, business owners and SEO professionals to freely test.

I have not been able to have a good play with this yet, but from what I have seen speed is definitely noticeable, however it could easily be a lot faster because of the lack of users using it???

Anyway I encourage everyone to go check it out now, and try to understand the differences between the old and the new. Like always any move Google makes could have a huge impact on your business, so best to be prepared!
